Message from the Grandmothers

Grandmothers Message: Stand Together

After we sent out the urgent plea from the Grandmothers, asking people to work with the Net of Light in the Gulf of Mexico we were flooded with emails. Sincere people, desperate people, those wanting to be of service to Mother Earth and all life--to not be overcome by fear. These heartfelt letters prompted this question to the Grandmothers

"Grandmothers," I asked, "what can we do to maximize our strength and stand steady at this time while fear and upheaval rock our world?"

Listen to us,” they said and I gave them my full attention. I watched and waited and soon saw what seemed to be a totem pole. Straight and commanding, carved animals rose from one another’s shoulders. The pole climbed high to the sky. Each animal was entirely itself, its strength was evident as it embodied its own unique qualities. The animals below supported the ones above, yet, unlike the way humans tend to think about things like this, I could see that the ones below were no ‘lesser’ than the ones above. Value was not created by how far up or down the pole one stood. The pole existed because Each of them was in their perfect place.

Again I asked my question. I didn't understand what the Grandmothers were telling me with this pole. There was a long silence and then they said, “Stand up straight and feel your body.” Quickly I did as they asked and immediately my shoulders dropped, my breathing become even and steady and I noticed that my eyes were perfectly level as they look out on the world. My gaze was so clear that I could see everything. "I am a force," I said to myself, "a source of power." Inside myself I felt solid and almost foundational, but I still didn’t know what this had to do with my question.

Watch us,” the Grandmothers said and then turned away from me, their skirts swirling with the abruptness of their motion. “What’s going on?” I muttered, but they kept walking away, going so far from me that I began to fear they would soon fade into the distance.

"What….?” I said, but before I could finish, they quickly turned and stood in a long line, facing me. “We are a force,” they said. “One of us alone is powerful, but standing in formation like this, we are a force.” Whew!” I agreed, expelling air and nodding my head. "They ARE a force!" A line of majestic women faced me now, each one drawn to her full height, her gaze unfaltering. They held their ground and seem to appraise me. “Grandmothers,” I said, “I don’t understand what…” but before I could finish my sentence, they begin to march toward me.

Stand together!” they shouted, their words almost shooting at me. The power of their forward movement silenced me, and I stopped where I was with my mouth open. “Stand together,” they repeated. “You are not alone. You are not a puny individual, one person among many. You are part of a great movement,” they said. “A mooooovement!” they cried. “Do not forget this. Call on us. Gather together, reach out to one another and in your great love for the Mother, call out to us.

What mother will willingly desert her child? ” they asked. “We will Never desert you. Come together, support one another, and call on us. You are a movement. The time for this forward movement is now. You have been called. Stand together with us,” they commanded. “This is the answer to your question. And this is what will hold you in strength.
