Message from the Grandmothers
Grandmothers' Message for August 2007:
"We are making the turn."
For some reason I had a difficult time formulating words for my
question this time. When at first I asked the Grandmothers what message
they wanted me to communicate in this newsletter, what people needed to
know, they said something like "Our loving care." Thinking
this statement far too vague, I said, "No, Grandmothers, people
aren't going to get that."
They bristled at my remark, stood taller than ever and looked fiercely
down their beaks at me. Then they puffed out their feathers so such
a degree that they formed one huge ruff. All I could see now was what
looked like a great feather boa with a glaring eye now and then peeping
out at me. "Grandmothers, I said it wrong," I stammered,
realizing I had made it sound as if they needed me to communicate with
others. "Please forgive me," I said. "Yes," they
replied, nodding. "We have our own communication with each one:
we communicate with them directly."
Fully chastened, I tried again. "Grandmothers," I
said, "what would be helpful, truly helpful for people to hear
now?"
"We are making the turn," they said. "What?"
I asked, not believing my ears. But as I stared at them suddenly all
I could see was what looked like a narrow dirt road, a road that was
making a turn to the right. As I looked down it, at the end I glimpsed
light glistening on water. I walked a short ways and saw birds skimming
and dolphins leaping on the water. "Nature will out," the
Grandmothers said.
I wasn't sure what this meant. It looked and felt good to me, but
hoping that they would give me more, I asked my question again. "This
is a good time for each person to nurture and give loving attention to
something in the natural world," the Grandmothers said. "Do
this however you like- in a large or small way," they said. "As
you do , you will affirm your loving connection with the natural world
which holds you, supports you and infuses your very body." As they
spoke, they showed me the entire human family, each one of us cupped and
held by the earth, the sky, the waters, animals and plants. "Make a
point," they said, "to do something loving and giving at this
time. Give something back to the natural world. It is time."
"And when you perform this action, think of the Net of
Light," they said. "Choose to remember and honor the Net
that holds and upholds all life as you reaffirm your connection to the
natural world.
"Recognize a tree," they laughed as they lovingly
placed their hands on the trunk of a tree. "Give thanks for the
breeze," they said. "Go out of your way to affirm and live
a loving connection to the natural world. It is especially important
to do this now. There is so much destruction on earth," they
said. "You know all about this," they said; "we need not
tabulate it for you.
"This particular message is for those who are working to
reactivate the energy of the Mother on earth. She is asking you to
demonstrate your love for Her now. You can do this by reaching out to
something of the natural world. Let this be your prayerful focus for
the next month or two. Gratitude, gratitude, gratitude for the world
that always loves and holds you.
The Grandmothers then folded their wings/arms and said, "We
bless you."
Gosh, Grandmothers," I said, surprised that this was all they
were going to say. "You wanted something brief and to the point for
the newsletter," they said, "and so we have given it."
