Message from the Grandmothers
October 2006
On October 3, I journeyed to the Grandmothers to ask them at this
time, and specifically on Oct. 17, which I had been told would be an
especially important day, what we could all do to be of help.
This is their response, their response to me and to each of us.
Appearing as great birds with human faces, the Grandmothers
immediately enfolded me in an embrace. “Experience our wings
as we cover you,” they said. “We have covered you like
this from the beginning, and we always will. When we first began
to teach you, we showed you the power of the wings, how these wings
nurture, enfold and lift.” As they spoke I remembered how
loved I had felt the day their wings enfolded me and how thrilling it
was for me the first time they showed me the span of my own wings.
“Yes,” they said, nodding their understanding, “you
have always known how the wings—ours, yours and others—lift
and comfort everything. From the power of the wings, the Net of
Light came forth,” they said. They nodded again, and as
they fanned their feathers, understanding dawned on me. The Net
of Light is activated by the loving and nurturing power of the wings;
it is activated by the power of love. “Grandmothers,” I
said, “The Net of Light, in a way, is the universal wings,
isn’t it? It covers, nurtures and lifts everything, just the
way your wings do.” “Yes,” they said, “and
as each of you claims your power, you magnify this great Net.
“You have been casting the Net of Light for many years
now,” they said as they looked me up and down, “and this
has made it very strong. Today the Net of Light covers the entire
earth. On your recent trip through the countries of old Yugoslavia,
wherever you went, you anchored the Net of Light.” I looked
up at them in wonder. I hadn’t realized this. I had
questioned why my husband and I had been drawn to take three weeks in
this part of the world but I hadn’t thought of anchoring the
Net of Light. “You were anchoring the Net,” they
said. “Share this information. Everyone needs to hear it
because each person who calls on us is doing the same thing. They
too are anchoring the Net of Light. They need to know this.
We tell you that no matter where you may be, at home or abroad, the
moment you call on the Divine, feel our love for you and/or feel this
love pouring from you to others, you anchor the Net of Light. At
that very moment you bless the earth. Know this truth and honor
yourself. Honor your work with the Divine. Too often you
underestimate yourself and are unaware of the good you do.
“Everywhere you traveled you saw and felt places of power and
saw and felt places of wounding . You felt the presence of the
Great Mother in the cave outside Ljubjiana and you felt the left-over
sickness of violence in Bosnia and Croatia. You are becoming a
fine-tuned instrument, one who is aware of the state of people and the
state of the places you encounter. This is true for many of you
who are working with us. We remind you to trust in your inner
knowing. The more each of you calls on the Divine, listens to
and asks for guidance, the more clear your awareness will become.
The work you do with the Divine is cumulative and many of you have come
a long way on the path to inner wisdom. We ask you to honor the
place where you stand today.”
As the Grandmothers said this my mind went to the wonderful woman
I visited when I was in Montenegro. “Yes,” the
Grandmothers said, interrupting my reverie, “you are correct
in surmising that she is a saint. But take a moment now and
remember her words to you,” they said, “the words that
shocked you.”
I remembered. She and I had been talking about saints and
holy people and I had said to her that I wasn’t sure we had any
saints in America. No one ever talked about that subject in my
country. When I said this, she smiled at me and asked, “Is
there any way you can know that you are not a saint?”
These were the shocking words the Grandmothers were referring to.
“Each of you is better, greater by far than you know,”
the Grandmothers said. “We are telling you the truth,”
they said as I continued to stare at them. “You carry within
you the source of inner wisdom. Whenever this wisdom speaks to
you, you ‘know’ the truth. This is the place for you
to live—especially at this time. The source of power/beauty
within you never lies; whenever you follow it you will encounter joy
and peace. Now,” they laughed, “we will give you a
little tip to help you live more from the core of who you are.
You will recognize the voice of inner wisdom, the place of beauty/power
within you by its relative silence. It does not argue, manipulate
or try to convince you of anything. It simply shows the truth,
gives you an idea, points you in a direction and then is quiet.
Also, whenever wisdom speaks, your body will feel good. Wisdom
will never make you feel agitated, angry or afraid. It is the
mind that agitates, argues and manipulates, not the inner wisdom.
Whenever you live from this place of inner wisdom you are living as what
you call a saint. This is what your friend wanted you to know.
“You ask about this time in particular,” they said,
“especially the day of October 17. This is a special
time and it holds great potential for good. There is an alignment
within the universe and a potential for energy shift now, especially on
that date. We urge you to use this entire month and especially
the 17th of October as a time to live from the source of power/beauty
within you. During this time, call constantly on us or any form
of the Divine you love. Sanctify this time and treat the 17th
as a holy day. Let yourself dwell in our love on that day.
We will enfold you. Your heart and mind will then be lifted and
your presence will effortlessly lift all who come into your orbit.
“Each of you is far greater than you think you are.
Entertain this thought for a while and begin to be willing to
accept your intrinsic goodness and greatness. Why not?”
they said. “It is time for you to accept your own
beauty/power. This is what is needed now. This is a
sacred time. Use it well and take joy in our work together.”
The Grandmothers then laughed and said, “This, as we have
told you, is part of the joy of being on the ride with us.”
