Message from the Grandmothers

August 2006, Slovenia

I asked the Grandmothers the purpose and significance of the Grandmothers’ gathering in Ljubjiana, Slovenia on Sept. 11 and this is what they told me. Slovenia occupies an area central to and surrounded by many cultures—Germanic peoples, Croats, Italians, Serbs, Muslims and others. It sits in the midst of the mountains, near the sea. Slovenia holds a position similar to that of a button on a coat, and just as a button does, Slovenia serves to connect and hold things together. At one time the Grandmothers showed me the different threads within this particular region of the world and how the country of Slovenia is a sort of place keeper or hub for them all.

The consciousness in Slovenia is one of spiritual elevation, though presently it is rather foggy and shut down. There is some spiritual waking up taking place now, but for the most part the consciousness here has been asleep for a long time. To illustrate the numb state that hangs over this area, the Grandmothers showed me an image of an ostrich with its head in the sand and another of a person who continually ‘looks the other way.’ The people in Slovenia have witnessed so much negativity, so much bloodshed and war that over the years many of them have simply gone numb.

The women and men who will come to the Grandmothers’ Empowerment in Ljubjiana on Sept. 11 are pure of heart and have already begun to awaken from the big sleep that has held their country in a drugged state for many years. These people want to awaken even more and are interested in being of service in the world. As with most Grandmothers’ gatherings, this one will be comprised primarily of women, women who are drawn to the Grandmothers’ message because they want to love and serve others more.

After they receive the Grandmothers’ empowerment and cloak of comfort, these women and men will carry the Grandmothers’ message of hope, power and universality throughout this region of the world. I was told to take extra scarves/cauls with me to give away to women who will want to start Grandmothers’ groups in their hometowns. The Grandmothers’ message will filter through these women into the countries surrounding Slovenia. The Grandmothers’ empowerment will truly bless the city of Ljubjiana. Slovenia itself will be further strengthened by it and will be affirmed as a spiritual center, a “button” that truly does its job of holding holds the parts together.

When I took the Grandmothers message to Lithuania in May, the work was of course with the Lithuanian people, but to an even greater degree, it was with the spirits of that land. The land of Lithuania was itself awakening and the spirits of that land wanted to work in partnership with the people there. We therefore worked to connect the people of Lithuania to the spirits of their land. In Slovenia the purpose of the Grandmothers’ work appears to be different. It is not so much the land that is awakening in Slovenia, but it is the people who are awakening. Many of them are now ready to reach out to one another on the Net of Light. The Grandmothers showed me that as they reach out to their neighbors and spread the Grandmothers’ message to this area of the world they will bring great joy to the Great Mother who, after all, wants nothing more than to see her children happy and loving one another. This act of reaching out is especially important here in the Balkans where for so long there has been so much war, distrust and separation.

I also asked the Grandmothers if at this time they had a message for those of us in other countries. When I asked them this, the Grandmothers showed me how all of us who work with them now resemble fully lit flames. As I watched I saw that the flames we are, are busy anchoring light on the earth and at the same time helping this light penetrate into the earth. It was interesting to observe that because we are fully lit, we stand out in the darkness that surrounds us. Those of us who hold the light/flame steady inevitably become a beacon for others who are seeking light. We stand out and are able to see the others who also stand out. This is simply the way it is. Light calls to light.

The light we hold is actually the light that we are. It’s our nature. Light naturally radiates out from us and whenever we stand in our light we can’t help but see others just like us who are also broadcasting light. We recognize one another.

This light also reaches deep into the earth. Wherever we touch ground, from that point light spreads downward and outward in every direction. Each of us is a contact point or a socket for light to flow through. Light infuses our being, then enters the earth through our feet. The Grandmothers showed me what this looks like from the earth’s perspective. Seen from underneath, our lights look like the glowing roots of trees that spread far and deep into the earth. It’s charming; we look like inverted Christmas trees.

On the surface of the earth our lights stretch in every direction, each flame sticking up out of the earth like a candle on the biggest birthday cake imaginable. It is thrilling to see these flames standing all over the earth, each one illuminating an area and anchoring light deep into the earth. What I was shown is yet another way of looking at and understanding the Net of Light. And when the Grandmothers had finished showing me the flames that we are, they said, “Honor yourselves. You are the light of the world.” Now in my opinion, those are words to live by.

Please hold the Net of Light steady for the people in Slovenia who will be coming to the Grandmothers to take part in this great awakening on September 11. Please case the Net of Light to us in Ljubjiana at 9 a.m. PST. Many of you did this when Jane and I were in Lithuania in May and the power we felt from your presence during these gatherings was greater than I had ever imagined. From the bottom of my heart I thank you for participating in this beautiful work.
