More than 80 women and a few men celebrated the message of the Grandmothers at a lush and ancient canyon overlooking the sea in Laguna Beach. With song and dance, mediation and thoughtful group discussions, we deepened our connection with the Grandmothers and with each other.

Some highlights from the weekend: On Friday we talked about what prevented us from fully living the Grandmothers' message and wrote our response on a piece of paper. That evening, Sharon lead a ceremony at the beach and we tossed our papers into a roaring fire. Many people received the Empowerment for the first time then while others "renewed their vows."
Saturday morning we learned the Grandmothers' Dance of Creation and
performed it on the patio. Then Sharon taught a simple method from the
Grandmothers for gaining access to other dimensions of reality, and later
in the afternoon we gathered in small groups to share the Grandmothers'
wisdom from "A Call to Power: the Grandmothers Speak." The
day ended with a deeply moving ceremony where each person received the
Grandmothers blessings.
All good things must come to an end and one of our final send-offs was a Sufi Dance out on the patio. There probably wasn't a dry eye in the house and it seemed that no one wanted to leave. "We have met the Grandmothers and they are us." You can read comments from participants at the Gathering below.
Many thanks to Sharon and the Laguna Beach Grandmothers Group, our three sisters from The Netherlands and everyone who helped us put together this Gathering. It surpassed all our expectations.
Next year's Gathering will again be at the Aliso Creek Inn, Laguna Beach, March 27, 28 and 29, 2009. Watch the newsletter for details.
Here are a few comments from people who attended the Gathering.

Thank you for such a wonderful gathering ~ I am so encouraged and will tell you this: I have never known the meaning of Belonging until now, until The Grandmothers. I have never known the feeling of deep support, intense sisterhood, loving feminine power until now, until the Grandmothers. Gracias, amigas.-- Lois
